Brim's Vintage VW Restorations

East Coast's Finest Volkswagen Restorations

This is Sven's 1973 that if you have been tracking, has had some MAJOR surgery.

The last update showed a completely restored and ready for final assembly, pan. I left a couple of them up.

We have recently taken aim at the body. So much so, that here he is on hangers with a heavy coat of primer waiting to get blocked and redied for PAINT!

With the exception of the all the mechanical work, (Engine, Drive Train, Breaking etc.), we are getting to a point where it will be time to work on this car with 'white gloves' as most of the major components are clean and ready for assembly.

So, the process of installing the restored beam, rear transaxle and tubes and brake assemblies will begin - short order! Let's get "him" rolling once again!

This is going to be one really nice 1303! OG!

This body is SOLID as a ROCK! as you recall, all new NOS rockers are welded in, MAJOR work on the quarters, significant work in the luggae are, Etc.!

Ahh SO NICE!

... and of course, we had to get the pedal assembly disassembled, cleaned, and restored prior to paint! Done Deal. Take note of the front tie rods and ancillary components. Done Deal... again bolt them up!!!

Body wise, we pretty much started here. The lines? they are perfect! Just incredible!

In the past 6 months, there have been a few "first in line" events for the Kafer. I found this photo in the archives, he is FIRST in line at the blaster! Going in before the gullwing...

Miscellanious blasted items like the hood, decklid, tank, etc. Ahhh.. dealing with CLEAN stuff is ALWAYS a major milestone!
